In this day and age, it is important to know who you are doing business with and using a web service like Lendink should be no different. That's why we created this page and make it readibly available to everyone that visits our site. On May 25, 2011, Lendink changed ownership. Below is the information for the new owners.
I have been working in the Information Technology industry for 19 years and I am currently a Manager of Infrastructure for an automotive manufacturing group within its North America headquarters located in Orange County, California. I am also an active PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and very much into protecting our marine environments. I have served in the U.S. Army and have been classified a disabled veteran. I am a member of the Disabled American Veterans organization and working with our disabled heros is very important to me.
Prior to getting into I.T., I was a California State Humane Officer and Chief of Animal Control for a Southern California municipality. I am a self-labelled gadget junkie and collect just about every new electronic device that comes onto the market, the Kindle and Nook included.
Being in I.T., I have had to read a lot of books over the years and it just isn't practical to carry all of the reference books I use on a daily basis under my arms. The Kindle and Nook have changed how I interact with my reference material and I simply love them both.
I was very excited when Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble began allowing the lending of eBooks. I think this is a natural progression of eBook technology and it just makes sense. I know many people that have gone on to purchase many eBooks that they first started reading from a loan. I really hope Amazon and Barnes and Nobles eventually loosen up the restrictions currently in place with the loaning process. I agree with the 14 day loan period and I can even agree with restricting an eBook to being loaned to an individual only once but to make the eBook loanable only once-ever, that just doesn't make any sense after all, I can loan my paperback books more than once.
I have visited many of the other lending sites and I think a number of them are superbly done and thought that it would be great to run a site like them and when I saw Lendink.com for sale I jumped at the chance and picked it up almost immediately.
I have a lot of ideas on how to improve the Lendink services and simply can't wait to roll them out for everyone to enjoy, so please visit often. It is my desire to make Lendink the number one location for all eBook lending services and realize that I have a long road ahead of me, so please be patient as I work to improve the site.
I have created a Facebook page for all of our members to visit and share thoughts about what we are doing right and how we can improve, please visit us and actively participate. We can't give you what you are looking for if you don't first tell us what it is you seek.
I look forward to getting to know you all and thank you for giving Lendink a chance to be your eBook lending service of choice.
